This is "THE GARDEN & THE FIRE". This album is truly a testament to time. Hanif-Jamiyl began writing this album during the classic MASPYKE "The Blackout" album. Back story: After leaving the major label in '97, MASPYKE members dispersed to different directions NYC, Maryland, Yokohama Japan. DJ Roddy Rod moved to Japan a year before the recording of "The Blackout" and "The G&F" albums. Roddy started sending beat cassette tapes in the mail with all of these ill concepts and samples from the influence of the "Far East" land of Japan. Hanif-Jamiyl would upload the analog beat tapes into the computer and record the vocals over the cassette beats. In between "The Blackout" sessions, Hanif-Jamiyl was going through a spiritual battle with himself. After 2 decades of recordings in various studios and time zones, the battle is over. This is album is the result of that battle. Vintage MASPYKE material by way of H-Bomb Boogie & DJ Roddy Rod. With some strong contributions from Grammy award winning Producer 88-Keys (Kanye West, Mos Def, Pusha T, etc) long time H-Bomb collaborator J. Bless (HYDRO LP).
